In Chiba prefecture, it was confirmed that 139 people were newly infected with the new coronavirus on the 1st, and the number of infected people per day exceeded 100 for the second consecutive day.



This brings the total number of people confirmed to be infected to 40,427.

The number of newly infected people in Chiba prefecture by the 30th is 1.09 times higher than the previous week, and by age group, 22% are in their 20s and 15% are in their 30s. Those under the generation account for about 60% of the total.



In addition, Chiba Prefecture announced that 12 people who had never traveled abroad were found to have been infected with the "Delta strain" of the mutant virus confirmed in India.



Nine of them are believed to have spread the infection in each of the three families, and two women in their 50s and 60s are working at the same office in the prefecture.



The number of people infected with "Delta strain" at this office is six.



Chiba Prefecture says, "The transition to Delta strains is progressing in the prefecture, and we are strongly concerned about future expansion. I want you to take thorough infection control measures again."
