Matahari Bousquet will have kept his Miss Tahiti scarf for two years!

After having canceled its 2020 edition due to the pandemic, Tahiti has started, as tradition dictates, the regional election season for the Miss France contest.

Tumateata Buisson, 24, was elected Miss Tahiti this Friday, after a gala evening in Papeete.

These festivities for the 60 years of Miss Tahiti were animated by a prestigious duo: Hinarere Taputu, Miss Tahiti 2014 and 1st runner-up of Miss France 2015, and Jean-Pierre Foucault.

The young Polynesian, who describes herself as "simple, genuine and benevolent" tried her luck in tribute to her mother who died three years ago.

"A special thought for you, Mom ... My engine and my strength, you were there all along this adventure."

This victory is for you, ”she wrote on Instagram.

Will Tumateata Buisson succeed Amandine Petit next December?

The Polynesian beauty queen "feels ready for Miss France", as she said on Polynesia 1st.
