A female red panda at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding has successfully given birth to 4 newborn cubs. This is the second time that a red panda has given birth to quadruplets since the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding has recorded.

Up to now, the 4 newborn red panda cubs and their mothers are in very good health, and the cubs can eat breast milk on their own.

According to reports, on June 18, the breeder at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding discovered that a red panda mother had irritability, rolling, and turning the nest grass and other prenatal reactions.

Subsequently, under the care of breeders and experts, the mother red panda gave birth to 4 red panda cubs at 8:31, 8:55, 11:27 and 11:34.

Through monitoring, the weight of the 4 pups was about 100 grams, which was within the range of normal birth weight.
