Via a last and broad vote of the Assembly, Parliament definitively adopted on Tuesday the bioethics bill and its emblematic measure of opening up medically assisted procreation (PMA) to female couples and single women.

After nearly two years of parliamentary shuttle, Emmanuel Macron's campaign promise was validated by 326 votes against 115 and 42 abstentions, across partisan divisions.

The government is counting on the first "assisted reproduction courses" from the end of the summer and the first children thus conceived before the end of 2021.
