"Lu Qiming once said so.

A composer who grew up in a revolutionary family

Lu Qiming was born in Wuwei, Anhui and grew up in a revolutionary family.

During the Anti-Japanese War, his father Lu Huisheng actively participated in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement. In 1940, the anti-enemy troupe of the Second Division of the New Fourth Army wanted to perform the opera "Rural Songs", which required a small actor to play Xiao Mao, the escaped child. Lv Qiming was taken in favor of Lu Qiming, who became a member of the anti-enemy troupe at the age of 10 years.

When he was 15 years old, he joined the Communist Party of China and swore an oath under the shining of the oil lamp in his hometown to fight for communism for life.

In May 1949, Shanghai was liberated. As a literary and artistic soldier, Lu Qiming followed the East China Military Region Art Troupe into Shanghai.

After changing his career, he came to the Shanghai Film Studio and worked as a violin player in the orchestra, and at the same time studied composition seriously.

The opportunity finally came. The 26-year-old Lv Qiming was invited by director Zhao Mingzhi to compose for the film "Railway Guerrillas", a song "Playing My Beloved Soil Pipa", which spread all over the country.

He once mentioned that all his creations are fulfilling the oath he made on the day he joined the party-writing for the motherland and the people. For him, it is by no means a slogan, but a lifelong lofty mission and sacred mission.

"I'm still young, I can continue to create"

Today, Lu Qiming, 91 years old, still insists on creating.

Some time ago, "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China, the Red Classics Show Season" held a press conference, and Lu Qiming also came to the scene to witness the "starting" of the "Red Classics Show Season".

He said: "I am 91 years old this year. I think I am still young and can still continue to create. These days, I am fighting day and night to modify a new version of the work. For me, this work is the same as "Ode to the Red Flag". It has an equally important weight, and it is also a memorable gift for the centennial of the Communist Party of China."

Serving and creating for the people wholeheartedly is the starting point of all Lu Qiming's actions, and also his belief and pursuit in his musical life.

In Lu Qiming's view, an artist can only create outstanding works worthy of the times if he has the motherland and the people in his heart. "A truly outstanding work of art can be spread and retained, not a gust of wind." (End)
