Ibaraki Prefecture and Mito City announced on the 21st that five new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus, bringing the total to 10,276.
It is the first time in about seven months since November 10th last year that the number of infected people per day has fallen below 10.
Meanwhile, the prefecture announced that a man in his twenties living in the prefecture had been infected with a mutant virus confirmed in India.
This is the first time that infection with this mutant virus has been confirmed in the prefecture.
