Will we be dancing standing on the Place de La Plaine in Marseille on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique?

In anticipation of this eventuality and having heard "of a call for the organization of a festive evening at Place Jean-Jaurès on Monday June 21", Frédérique Camilleri, the prefect of police of Bouches-du-Rhône issued an order prohibiting "any festive musical gathering in the perimeter".

"The police services will be mobilized to enforce this ban," she warned.

"This ban does not however apply to establishments open to the public, as long as they comply with health protocols", specifies the prefecture.

As a reminder, the protocol developed for this Music Festival already provides for such provisions, only authorizing “seated configurations” in bars, cafes and restaurants.
