Egyptian Immunology Expert: We can reach zero cases of corona within two months

An immunology expert indicated that it is expected that cases of coronavirus infection will reach “zero” in Egypt, provided that preventive measures are adhered to, and the largest number of Egyptians are vaccinated.

Magdy Badran, a member of the Egyptian Society for Allergy and Immunology, said, in statements to the “Al-Wafd” website, “Despite the decline in cases of Corona virus, we are still in the third wave,” adding that “Egypt tops the list of countries that break the third wave, and it is expected that no increase will be made.” Injuries are during the next July and August, and we may reach zero cases after two months if preventive measures are adhered to and the largest number of citizens are vaccinated.”

On the possibility of entering the Delta strain of Egypt, Badran said, "Although the Delta strain has invaded 80 countries so far, Egypt is well secured by land, sea and air," stressing that the decrease in the number of new cases is due to the commitment of citizens and the application of necessary preventive measures.

He considered that it was premature to talk about the date of the start of the fourth wave of the Corona virus in Egypt.
