Xinxian County, Henan, located in the hinterland of the Dabie Mountains, was the capital of the Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Soviet regions during the Revolutionary War.

Three main red forces, namely the Fourth Red Army, the Twenty-Five Red Army, and the Twenty-eighth Red Army, were born and raised successively. Almost every family in the area has a Red Army and martyrs in every household.

More than 1,800 revolutionary martyrs, old Red Army and Red Army generals are buried in the Martyrs Cemetery, the capital of the Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Soviet regions, commemorating the great achievements of the revolutionary martyrs.

In the cemetery, there is a rare five-sided revolutionary martyrs monument, 13.1 meters high, and the eight characters "Revolutionary martyrs immortal" on the north side of the monument, written by Comrade Zhu De, and the other four sides are Xu Shiyou, Liu Mingbang and other leading comrades and the families of martyrs. This monument is a five-pointed star from above, which has no deep meaning.
