It was learned that on the 17th, 14 Asian elephants moved north after a trek and left Yuxi City. Yimen County entered Dalongtan Township, Eshan Yi Autonomous County at 21:48 on the same day.

The elephant group had been wandering in Yimen County for 10 days.

Elephant herd wandered for 10 days and then migrated and transitioned

  The monitoring video provided by the Yunnan Provincial Forest Fire Fighting Corps showed that the elephants walked all the way along the mountain during the 10 days they were active in Yimen County. Sometimes they moved frequently and moved far away; sometimes they rectified and rested and made small roundabouts.

At 7 o'clock on the 18th, the elephant group began to rectify and rest, and slept until about 14:50 that day; at 17:30, the elephant group began to play in the mountain qing and eat sweet potato vines in the sweet potato field.

  At 7 o'clock on June 18, 14 elephants stopped moving in the mountain clearing 300 meters below the Diesuo Village Committee in Dalongtan Township, Eshan County.

  According to the provincial headquarters of the Asian elephant safety precautions for the northward movement of Yunnan, the Diesuo Village Committee is located at the junction of Yimen County and Eshan County, with an altitude of more than 1,500 meters. The Lvzhijiang River, a tributary of the Yuanjiang River.

The village committee is a half-hour drive away from Shijie Township Government. In order to better ensure the monitoring and on-site control of the target group, the head of the command center believes that the front command center personnel must move with the elephant.

  However, making a decision to transfer still needs to be judged, considering the food and accommodation conditions from the township level to the village committee, and whether the elephant's whereabouts will return to Yimen.

The staff rushed to the front line to conduct on-site inspections, check the terrain, and more accurately judge the elephant's next direction.

At 14:30 on the 18th, after repeated studies and judgments, the group of "xiang chasers" who had been stationed in Yimen Shijie Township Government for 11 days "transferred" to the Eshan Diesuo Village Committee.

  The Forest Fire Brigade of Yunnan Province continued to monitor. As of 17:00 on the 18th, the elephant group was still active in Diesuo Village, Dalongtan Township, Eshan County; the single elephant was out of the group for 13 days and entered the district of Anning City at 22:7 on June 17th. The elephant group is in the direction of the east, and the linear distance is 25 kilometers from the elephant group. It is active near the Eight Street Street of Anning City.

  Due to on-site traffic diversion, safety precautions, and monitoring deployment and control difficulties have increased significantly.

The provincial headquarters organized experts to conduct on-site inspections on the migration routes of the single elephants entering Anning City, assess the risk of accidents caused by the single elephants, study and judge the routes, and propose scientific relocation assistance programs.

According to the migration situation of the unique elephant, Anning City launched an emergency response plan, which was operated synchronously with the Jinning District Field Command.

  On the same day, the on-site command center invested a total of 138 emergency response personnel and police forces, dispatched 202 muck trucks, 25 excavators and other engineering vehicles, 94 emergency vehicles, and 15 drones for 24-hour monitoring, and evacuated 1,329 people 4774 people fed 0.7 tons of elephant food.

In addition, the monitoring of the wild Asian elephant search and monitoring task force of the Yunnan Provincial Forest Fire Fighting Corps showed that the elephant herd was overall stable.

  The Beijing News previously reported that on April 16, 17 Asian elephants that originally lived in the Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve migrated from Mojiang County, Pu'er City to Yuanjiang County, Yuxi City.

Two of them returned to Mojiang on April 24, and the other 15 continued their northward journey.

  They entered Baoxiu Town, Shiping County, Honghe Prefecture in the early morning of May 16, and continued to advance, reaching Eshan County, Yuxi City on the 24th.

After staying in Eshan County for 6 days, the wild elephant group entered the territory of Hongta District, Yuxi City on the 30th.

  On June 2, the northern elephant group entered Shuanghe Township, Jinning District, Kunming City.

For 3 consecutive days, the elephant group has been active in Shuanghe Township.

On June 5, the elephant group moved south first and entered the Xiyang Township from Shuanghe Township, Jinning District, Kunming City.

For two consecutive days, the elephant group moved from the northwest to the south and continued to move in Xiyang Township. One of the male elephants was out of the group and moved to the north-east of the elephant group.

  According to the official source of the "Yunnan Release", after 8 days, the elephant group continued to move to the southwest. After that, it continued to move in Yimen County, Yuxi City for 10 consecutive days.
