An illegal free party that turns into violent clashes, and drama for a 22-year-old who has "lost a hand", in the words of the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine. The "young man born in 1999, living in Rennes, unknown to Justice" "is currently undergoing surgery leading to amputation," the statement said.
This investigation was entrusted to the Rennes Research Section.
“It must make it possible to determine the exact circumstances and the origin of these injuries, and on this basis, any criminal liability.
As such, it is advisable to observe the greatest caution before the end of the investigations ”, continues the text.
Five men in custody
Despite an order from the prefect prohibiting any festive gathering of a musical nature, “1,500 people” had converged on Redon on Friday evening, the prefect and the gendarmerie said on Saturday morning to intervene to prevent the gathering.
The clashes began around 10:30 p.m. and lasted seven hours, injuring five gendarmes, two of whom were evacuated to Redon hospital.
A second investigation relating to violence against persons holding public authority (gendarmes) was therefore opened on this aspect.
"In this context, five men (born in 2001, 2002, 1998, 1999 and 1984, with no criminal record except the last) are currently in police custody," said the public prosecutor in his press release.
Finally, a third investigation relating to the organization of the free party is also underway.
