According to the WHO, each year, approximately 12 million girls between the ages of 15 and 19 (and at least 777,000 girls under the age of 15) give birth to children in developing regions.

Among them, some become mothers out of wedlock.

This is what particularly interests us here.

Publicity

In this case, the social consequences of pregnancy and then motherhood among these adolescent girls can be dramatic.

Especially in societies where religious conservatism remains very present as we will see in Niger or Burkina Faso.

Becoming a single mother then often becomes the beginning of a long ordeal.

The arrival of a first child can often be confusing. Young people and mothers at the same time, they have to face the rejection of their family, the eyes of others, stigma and even discrimination.

Whimsical wedding promises, one night's accidents, forgetting to take contraception, today we offer you the moving testimonies of young mothers who have found the strength and courage to raise and keep their children despite social pressure.
