A professor at the University of Tsukuba wrote a dissertation on the problem of troubles between members of the idol group "NGT48" and fans, and published it on the university's website. He filed a lawsuit seeking republishing of the paper, alleging that it was an infringement of the university.

Professor Asaji Hirayama of the University of Tsukuba filed a complaint with the Tokyo District Court on the 18th, and Tokyo Kasumigaseki held a press conference.

According to the complaint, when I published a treatise on the university's homepage in January last year about the problem of troubles between members of the idol group NGT48 and fans, I received a protest letter from NGT48's operating company "Vernalossom" requesting deletion. , It means that it was deleted by the university.

Regarding this, Professor Hirayama has sought the publication of a treatise and compensation from the operating company and the university for violating the academic freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.

At the press conference, Professor Hirayama said, "The most important thing for researchers is to be able to freely publish their research. I want the university to restore the treatise to its original state."

Both the operating company and the University of Tsukuba have stated that "the complaint has not arrived, so we will refrain from commenting."
