Zacharias Vamvakousis is a musician and IT engineer and has developed the program that allows Alexandra Kerlidou to play the harp with her eyes.

He got the idea when a musician friend, who also played the harp, injured himself in a motorcycle accident just before they were to hold a concert together.

- At first it was unclear if he could move his arms and hands and play again.

It came as a shock to me and I realized that this type of technology is necessary, Vamvakousis told Reuters.

The technique follows eye movements and then executes commands.

The eye rests on a note or tone on a circle on a screen and you can thus play three to four tones per second.

The program includes 25 different instruments.
