The locomotive that had been active on the freight line centered on Akita Port in Akita City, which was abolished this time, will be transferred to a railway company in Gifu Prefecture, and the unloading work was carried out on the 18th.

The "DE10 diesel locomotive," which has been towing freight trains for about four years on the "Akita Rinkai Railway," a freight line that connects Akita Port in Akita City and its surroundings, was carried out.

Following the abolition of the Akita Rinkai Railway in March, it was transferred to the Seino Railway, a freight railway in Gifu Prefecture, and the unloading work was carried out on the 18th.

The locomotive with a total length of about 14 meters was divided into parts such as the car body and bogie.

Then, while being checked by the person in charge, it was lifted by a large crane and loaded onto a dedicated trailer.

The disassembled locomotive will be transported to Gifu Prefecture by land and ship, and will be inspected and commissioned before operation from July.

Hitoshi Shimizu, president of Akita Rinkai Railway, said, "It's sad to send it out, but I want Gifu to support freight transportation as well."
