Pierre-Ange Giudicelli is the co-founder of the Mare Vivu association, which fights against pollution from biomedia, plastic and germ-filled microfilters, originally used in sewage basins.

Toxic and degrading over several hundred years, they represent a real danger for the environment and public health.

In February 2021, a new wave of biomedia pollution was spotted in Corsica, following an error at a wastewater treatment plant in the south of Bastia.

"It's still very paradoxical that a small object that is normally used to purify water, so to ensure that human waste is the least polluting possible, ultimately comes to degrade both marine ecosystems but also human health, ”remarks Pierre-Ange Giudicelli.
