The Public Security Bureau of Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province issued a police report on the evening of June 17, stating that at present, relevant personnel have arrived at the case and the case is under further investigation.

Multiple online videos showed that different victims were beaten, all of which occurred in dark stairwells and other places.

The police reported that during the Dragon Boat Festival, Xing XX (female, 15 years old), Li XX (female, 17 years old), Lei XX (female, 13 years old), Deng XX (female, 13 years old) , Qiao Moumou (female, 13 years old), Qiao Moumou (female, 14 years old) and others beat Wang Mou (female), Li Mou (female), and Guo Mou in a shopping mall in Pingyao County.
