Following the government's decision to lift the state of emergency, Hiroshima Prefecture held a meeting of the New Coronavirus Response Headquarters on the night of the 17th to reduce the infection status in the prefecture to stage 3.

However, we have decided to continue intensive measures to prevent the spread of the infection until the 11th of next month.

On the 17th, the government decided to cancel the state of emergency issued to Hiroshima Prefecture, etc., except for Okinawa Prefecture, on the 20th of this month, which is the deadline.

In response to this, the prefecture held a meeting of the new coronavirus countermeasures headquarters after 7 pm on the 17th, and lowered the infection situation in the prefecture from the most serious stage 4 to stage 3.

However, as it is necessary for indicators such as infection status to stably fall below the standards set by the prefecture, intensive measures to prevent the spread of infection will be continued after the 21st of this month and extended until the 11th of next month. I decided to do it.

As a concrete measure, during the extended period, the liquor will be served from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages in Hiroshima City, Higashi Hiroshima City, and Hatsukaichi City, and the business hours will be changed. We request that it be shortened from 5 am to 8 pm.

On the other hand, we call on department stores, movie theaters, sports facilities, entertainment facilities, etc. to shorten the liquor serving time and business hours as a "work" that is not based on the Special Measures Law.

Governor Yuzaki said at a press conference, "It's a level where we can't say that we're suppressing the infection sufficiently. I think we may be tired of self-restraint, but all the citizens of the prefecture need to do their best."
