A few days ago, netizens uploaded a video of "Tigers at Liuzhou Zoo as skinny as firewood" to a short video platform and received nearly 10 million views. Many netizens questioned the mismanagement of the zoo and deducted tiger rations.

On June 17, Zhao Jialiang, director of the Publicity and Education Department of the Liuzhou Zoo in Guangxi, responded that the tiger photographed by netizens was the female Siberian tiger "Wenwen" in the park, 16 years old this year, weighing 170 to 180 kg.

Introduced from the Nanning Zoo in 2010, he had suffered from chronic gastroenteritis when he entered the park, with repeated attacks, so his body was thin.

The park has been actively treating the "Wenwen" disease. After consulting with experienced veterinarians in other zoos and formulating a treatment plan, the "Wenwen" disease has improved, but it has not been cured.

In order to help "wenwen" digestion, the breeder feeds the original pieces of meat instead of minced meat and meat slices, and adds gastrointestinal conditioning drugs.

"Wenwen" now eats 8 catties of meat every day, including chicken, pork, beef, and pork liver.

Zhao Jialiang said that although Wenwen is not fat, its mental state and mobility are very good.
