A new bed securing plan for prefectures has been announced, assuming that the spread of the new coronavirus has doubled the so-called third wave.

It means that we have secured more than 35,000 beds, which is about 4,800 more than before.

In the so-called third wave, there was a day when the number of newly infected people per day reached about 8,000, the highest number so far, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare reviewed the bed securing plan for prefectures in March. I asked.

In the new plan, it is assumed that the number of newly infected people per day will exceed twice the number of the third wave, about 18,000 people, etc., and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has compiled the plans of the prefectures. I announced it.

According to this, the maximum number of beds that could be secured was 35,195 beds nationwide, which is 4824 more than in March.

In addition, if urgent measures were taken to postpone hospitalization or surgery for patients other than Corona, the number would increase, and 37,827 beds could be secured.

A total of 38,159 accommodation facilities for people with mild illnesses have been secured, which means that there will be 7,874 more rooms than in March, and 41,260 rooms will be secured in the event of an emergency response. It means that it has become.

On the other hand, even if there are already secured beds, there have been reports of cases where they could not be used immediately due to lack of medical staff, so the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will strengthen the system for dispatching support for nurses. It is a policy.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare states, "In preparation for the rapid spread of infection, we will continue to request local governments to reconsider if necessary."

Wide area dispatch of nurses

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare asks hospitals under the jurisdiction of relevant ministries and agencies to secure nurses to be dispatched in an emergency in advance in order to avoid situations where even if a bed is secured, it cannot be used due to labor shortage.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, as of the 16th, 160 people will be dispatched to Osaka prefecture, 63 people to Okinawa prefecture, 48 people to Hyogo prefecture, and 17 people to Hokkaido through this system.

It is expected that a total of 73 nurses will be dispatched from 45 hospitals nationwide next month, and we will dispatch them one by one if requested by prefectures.
