After the state of emergency is lifted, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is adjusting whether it is possible to request restaurants to refrain from serving alcohol under priority measures such as prevention of spread.

We are still requesting restaurants that serve alcohol to be closed, but we would like to prevent the re-spread of infection by continuing to reduce the chances of eating and drinking with alcohol, which has a high risk of infection, even under priority measures.

The number of new infections confirmed in Tokyo is declining, but the pace is slowing down and the number of people in downtown areas continues to increase, raising concerns about the re-expansion of infection.

Under these circumstances, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is considering future measures in response to the government's policy of canceling the state of emergency by June 20 and shifting to priority measures such as prevention of spread.

We are still requesting that we take a leave of absence when serving alcohol to restaurants, but according to the people concerned, we are adjusting whether we can request refraining from serving alcohol even after shifting to priority measures.

In addition, we will continue to request that business hours be shortened to 8:00 pm, and we are making adjustments in areas where these measures are applied.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will continue to reduce the chances of eating and drinking with alcohol, which has a high risk of infection, and will prevent the infection from spreading again before the Tokyo Olympics, which will soon be one month before the opening.
