The government has decided to extend the period of emergency declaration issued to Okinawa Prefecture by three weeks, exceeding the two weeks requested by the prefecture.

The original draft of the coping policy that Okinawa Prefecture is considering includes refraining from going out and responding to restaurants as before, while canceling the request for school closure and resuming it from the 21st of next week.

Okinawa Prefecture held a countermeasures headquarters meeting from 5 pm, and since the extended 21st, it has been formulating new coping policies for citizens of the prefecture and businesses, but the draft under consideration has been clarified.

As a result, requests to refrain from going out or moving, requests to take a leave of absence from restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages, and requests to postpone or cancel events will continue.

On the other hand, the main change from the past is that from the 5th of this month, a certain effect was seen on the weekend closure request for large-scale commercial facilities with a floor area of more than 1000 square meters. It will be released in a day.

In addition, in order to secure learning opportunities, we will cancel the request for school closure from the prefectural school from the 7th of this month in the 20th as originally planned, and resume the class from the 21st.

Regarding elementary and junior high schools, we will leave the judgment to the board of education of the municipality according to the situation of the area and school, referring to the correspondence of the prefectural school.

However, club activities will continue to require suspension in principle.

Based on this draft, Okinawa Prefecture wants to formally decide the prefecture's coping policy on the 17th.
