[Commentary] The photographer of this video is called Zhu Qingyan, a farmer in Baicheng City, Jilin Province.

She and her husband Liu Jibo found a pair of "single" red-crowned cranes while working in the fields, and saw the pair of red-crowned cranes laying eggs on the ridge of rice fields.

Recently, they made contact with the Momoge National Nature Reserve in Jilin, and the scientific researchers in the reserve tracked the reproduction process of the pair of red-crowned cranes.

Did not think about having eggs.

My daughter-in-law put the water there, and after that, there were cranes laying two eggs in the ground.

[Explanation] After follow-up and monitoring, Zou Changlin, chief of scientific research of Jilin Momoge National Nature Reserve, discovered that the pair of red-crowned cranes were reared artificially in the reserve, and the wilding experiment was successfully released this spring.

It is understood that the red-crowned crane is a national first-class protected animal.

The wilding of red-crowned cranes is a world-class problem.

Therefore, it is very important for future conservation work to be able to track the reproduction process of this pair of red-crowned cranes.

Rewilding is to restore its ability to reproduce and survive under natural conditions through re-domestication and adaptive training.

Gradually expand the population, and finally achieve the goal of natural reproduction and survival in nature.

Zou Changlin said that this is the first case of artificial breeding of red-crowned cranes in the wild that has been tracked since the establishment of the Momoge National Nature Reserve in Jilin.

It should be said that this is the first case of a captive-bred red-crowned crane that we have tracked to breed in the wild. It should be said that it is filling a gap in our monitoring and research center. At the same time, through the monitoring data of it, including its behavior Observation is also for us to continue to carry out the wild operation of the red-crowned crane artificial breeding population in the future. It can provide a lot of data and provide a theoretical support.

At the same time, it is also of great guiding significance for the improvement of our future work.

[Explanation] Jiang Li, director of the Jilin Momoge National Nature Reserve Administration Bureau, revealed that the reserve has now contacted the National Bird Ring Logging Center and plans to bring a tracker to the pair of red-crowned cranes at the right time to keep track of them. Their whereabouts are ready for the next step of scientific research monitoring.

At the same time, the Jilin Baicheng Escort Team of the China Wildlife Conservation Association also participated in the care and monitoring of the pair of red-crowned cranes to ensure that they survive the breeding period safely.

So if we do this work, it will be more meaningful to supplement wild species.

As a conservation bureau, we also have the responsibility and obligation to contribute to the world’s rare species by increasing their numbers and making our due contribution.
