After Edouard Bear, the Cannes Film Festival changes master of ceremonies for its 74th edition, with in fact a mistress of ceremonies.
French actress Doria Tillier will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from July 6 to 17 on the Croisette.
“Canal +, alongside the Cannes Film Festival, is pleased to announce that Doria Tillier will be the mistress of the opening and closing ceremonies of this 74th edition, produced by Canal + and which will be broadcast unencrypted, live and exclusively on July 6 and 17, 2021, ”the channel announced in a press release.
A busy year for the actress
Nominated in 2020 for the César for best actress for
La Belle Epoque
directed by her ex-companion Nicolas Bedos, Doria Tillier made her film debut in 2017 in
Monsieur & Madame Adelman
by the same director. She had been revealed as presenter of the weather forecast for Canal +, a role she held for two seasons.
More recently, she played one of Jonathan Cohen's contenders in the series
The Flame
.
“That same year, Doria Tillier multiplies the projects in the cinema with her first production, and she will be showing
in Sébastien Marnier's
film
The Origin of Evil,
which is scheduled for release in 2021,” said the press release.
The Cannes Film Festival has already unveiled the majority of its official selection, it remains to discover the poster and the composition of the jury, chaired by Spike Lee.
