The beaches of Normandy still have a great place in the hearts of the French.

Three of them even climbed into the top 20 of the most searched French beaches on the Internet, according to a recent study by Likibu, reports

Côté Manche

.

The vacation rental comparator, launched in 2015, studied Google beach searches between May 31 and June 4.

It has drawn up a ranking of the twenty most searched beaches on the Web for the last twelve months.

And on the podium, behind the two Marseille creeks of Sormiou and En-Vau, is already Omaha Beach, in Vierville-sur-Mer.

No Breton beach in the ranking

This Calvados beach has amassed 22,200 requests in one year.

“A major French heritage site, it welcomes thousands of visitors each year who come to discover its memorial museum and admire an exceptional panorama of this place steeped in history,” says Likibu.

“In summer, its fine golden sand, which earned it the nickname 'Plage d'Or', becomes children's favorite playground.

"

Further in the ranking, in the middle of the beaches of Gard, Var and Corsica, we find Utah Beach in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (Manche).

The seaside is 12th on the list with 9,900 requests in twelve months.

In 15th place, not far behind, is the beach of Deauville (Calvados) with 8,920 requests.

Brittany is completely absent from the ranking.

Overall, of the twenty beaches in this top, it is the Mediterranean that largely wins.
