With the music video "Lost Cause" Billie Eilish started a debate about her sexual orientation.

The video, which was released two weeks ago, shows the singer in silk tops and erotic poses at an overnight party with various women.

Her Instagram entry "I love women" fueled speculation about the possible homosexuality of the nineteen year olds.

American media had previously reported repeatedly about a romance between Eilish and actor Matthew Tyler Vorce ("Little Monsters").

“If the video was her coming out, then all is well.

But if she turns out to be straight, the whole thing is pure queerbaiting, ”wrote a fan on social media on behalf of many.

Queerbaiting, a play on words made up of “homosexual” and “baiting”, describes same-sex romances played out in order to win lesbian and gay followers.

Meanwhile, Eilish is holding back.

She briefly commented on the debate about the alleged queerbaiting on Instagram with “I'm tired”.
