Struggle is at the forefront of "anti-epidemic".

Businessman Hu: I didn’t think about personal gains and losses at this time

Director Hu is from Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. After 10 years in Guangzhou, Director Hu not only married in Guangzhou, lived in Liwan District with his wife and son, but also founded a commodity import and export trading company and an automobile technology company.

At around 16:00 on May 26, Liwan District issued a nucleic acid test announcement for all members of the district.

At around 17:00, Director Hu received a notice from his West Village Chamber of Commerce WeChat group to urgently recruit nucleic acid sampling volunteers, and asked to rush to the sampling point of the Xiwan East Neighborhood Square in Xicun Street at 18:00, and officially start sampling at 20:00.

At that time, he was dealing with affairs in the company and signed up without thinking about it.

"The epidemic has reached my doorstep, and it will definitely happen." Director Hu said firmly.

The work of volunteers is complicated and hard.

After arriving at the assembly point, he and other volunteers set up tents, set up tables, and carried supplies, and finally rushed to prepare the sampling point before 20 o'clock.

As more and more residents came to sample, he began to be responsible for maintaining the order of the team, guiding residents to scan the QR code to fill in the form, and always pay attention to the needs of medical care.

It wasn't until 3 o'clock in the morning the next day that his work at the sampling point ended.

Director Hu also organized the company and employees to actively participate in the fight against the epidemic.

On the morning of June 3, Cheyouhuilian Information Technology Co., Ltd. on Xingang East Road, Haizhu District, where he is located, received a notice from the district government requesting the expropriation of a 200-square-meter site downstairs from the company as a nucleic acid sampling site.

He hurried to Haizhu District to arrange venues and organize company employees to cooperate with the construction of sampling points and provide materials.

Due to the epidemic, the turnover of Hudao Company during this period has dropped considerably compared with the same period last year.

But he said that he hadn't thought about personal gains and losses at this time. "The medical staff on the scene have worked harder than himself."

Chen Ying, the first batch of Hong Kong civil servants: moved by the dedication of Guangzhou people

Chen Ying was the first batch of Hong Kong civil servants in Guangzhou.

In November 2020, Chen Ying joined the management committee of Guangzhou Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone in Haizhu District.

After the outbreak, Chen Ying was sent to Xingang Street, Haizhu District to support the anti-epidemic work.

Sometimes she went to nucleic acid testing sites to support, and sometimes she went to various communities under the sub-district to deal with the epidemic, such as receiving residents' consultation, calling and contacting residents.

At the end of May, Haizhu District also launched a large-scale nucleic acid testing and sampling, and Chen Ying undertook work such as information entry and team order maintenance.

This time period coincides with the Guangzhou Dragon Boat season. The weather is not only sweltering, but also heavy rainstorms from time to time. Chen Ying is wearing isolation gown or protective clothing, and has participated in three rounds of large-scale nucleic acid sampling during the whole process.

She said that through her work on the front line of the fight against the epidemic, she feels that everyone is contributing their own strength to the fight against the epidemic. “Especially some grandpas and grandmas will also go out and queue for testing, which makes me very touched.”

Looking forward to more youth development in the Mainland

With the deepening of reform and opening up and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, more and more young people from Hong Kong and Macau, like Dao Hu and Chen Ying, stay in the Greater Bay Area to work and live, and their ties with the Greater Bay Area are getting closer. .

During the more than 10 years of staying in Guangzhou, benefiting from the convenience and prosperity of the international trade center, the Guangzhou Big Finger Trading Co., Ltd. where Hu Dao is located, has been doing well in the import and export industry.

Later, he was optimistic about technological entrepreneurship, and co-founded Cheyouhuilian Information Technology Co., Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise, with his friends.

Chen Ying also said that when he chose to develop in Guangzhou, it was also because Guangzhou is a vibrant and inclusive city.

Especially in the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone, leading Internet companies such as Tencent and Alibaba have settled down one after another. She is very optimistic about the future of Guangzhou and Pazhou.

Both Director Hu and Ying Chen said that under this situation of uniting to fight the epidemic, they believe that the epidemic will be brought under control soon.

Director Hu said that there are many policies in the Mainland that are conducive to the entrepreneurship and development of Hong Kong and Macao youths in the Mainland. He hopes that they will come to the Greater Bay Area to take a walk and take a look.
