  Hong Kong’s Sing Tao Daily Network noted on the 14th that the Education Bureau’s webpage showed that the Directorate-level "Deputy Secretary of Education (Special Duties)" was added. Chen Muyan will be responsible for the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and related matters, as well as the overall improvement of school administration and management Special support measures for governance, formulating strategies for the development of government schools, and reviewing the development of education professionals in the Education Bureau.

This position is filled by Chen Muyan.

According to the Education Bureau, the new posts are time-limited directorate supernumerary posts for a period of 6 months, from April 1 to the end of September.

  It is understood that the Hong Kong Education Bureau originally had a permanent secretary and six deputy secretary-general positions, of which the deputy secretary-generals were respectively responsible for "continuing and higher education", "planning, infrastructure and degree allocation", "professional development and special education", and "schools". "Development and Administration", "Curriculum and Quality Assurance" and "Institutional Affairs", etc.

  Earlier in early June, a poll conducted by the Shande Foundation showed that, overall, nearly half of the schools surveyed were not fully prepared to implement national security education.

To this end, the foundation recommends that middle and primary schools create a middle-level director position to coordinate the implementation of national security education in schools.
