His boat is called Morgane, in tribute to his cousin who died last year. The story also goes that the Americans with whom he landed called him "Rowman", which means "the man who paddles". Known for his formidable epic at the North Pole with his hen Monique, the Breton adventurer Guirec Soudée will set off for a new crossing of the Atlantic on Tuesday. The young man from the island of Yvinec located in Plougrescant (Côtes d'Armor) will leave Cape Cod, peninsula in the northeast of the United States. His goal ? Cross the Atlantic from west to east and reach Brittany by oar. An adventure that promises to be solid in these perilous and uncertain latitudes from a meteorological point of view.

At the end of February, the young sailor had already completed the crossing of the Atlantic by oar from the Canaries. Arrived in the West Indies after 74 days at sea and a journey of nearly 5,400 kilometers, Guirec Soudée quickly announced his desire to set off again in the other direction. After three and a half months in the United States, he is about to return. "He knows that what awaits him is going to be a hell of a cut above the go, which already had nothing of a walk in the park," slips his team.

The start is already shaping up to be rock'n'roll for the intrepid rower.

To face the southerly wind, Guirec must first be towed to the tip of the island of Monomoy, before having to row with a strong crosswind in order to get away from the coast.

A challenge which absolutely does not scare the young Breton.

Since leaving for Greenland at the end of 2015 where he spent 130 days trapped in the ice with his hen Monique, Guirec Soudée has become a real icon.

He had become the youngest navigator to sail the Northwest Passage.

Very good at making his many fans dream thanks to his superb images, the young sailor even plans to take the start of the next Vendée Globe in 2024.
