gives you all the essential information about this 2021 session.

In two weeks, the 3rd year college students will take their first exam.

A session inevitably upset because of the particular school year they went through.

They experienced a more or less long half-gauge period depending on the establishment, were sometimes sick, saw their class closed due to cases of Covid-19.

explains what awaits the candidates.

What is the exam schedule?

The patent will take place on June 28 and 29, and five tests await the candidates.

Big day on Monday June 28: candidates will start with the French test, which will start at 9 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m.

They will continue with math, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

On the program Tuesday: history-geo-EMC (moral and civic education) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., then science from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

For the science test, the two themes chosen this year are physics-chemistry and life and earth sciences for the general series, physics-chemistry and technology for the technological series, and physics-chemistry and biology-ecology for candidates for agricultural education.

Candidates will also have to take an oral between April 15 and June 29.

For free candidates, this oral examination will be replaced by a written test in a modern foreign language on Tuesday, June 29, from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Have any adjustments been made due to the health crisis?

“This year has been complicated for the college students.

They have been in half-gauge for a longer or shorter time, some have been ill or have had teachers absent.

Suddenly, all the students were not at the end of the programs.

This can put them in a delicate situation in front of a subject on which they will have made a dead end ”, anticipates Anne-Sophie Legrand, national secretary responsible for the college sector at Snes-FSU.

To avoid this pitfall, the union had asked the Ministry of Education that candidates could have the choice between several subjects in math, history-geography, physical sciences and SVT: “We were refused.

We can however hope that the subjects will relate to themes addressed at the beginning of the year, when the college students were 100% face-to-face ”, estimates Anne-Sophie Legrand.

What sanitary measures are planned for the tests?

They will be the same as for the bac.

Candidates identified as contact or positive Covid-19 cases are not allowed to attend the exams.

“As this is a case of force majeure, they will be called to the replacement session on September 13 and 14,” said Jean-Michel Blanquer's entourage at

20 Minutes.

On the other hand, students whose class was closed shortly before the start of the tests "will be able to sit for an examination if they have not been formally identified as contacts at risk", specifies the ministry.

Wearing a surgical or general public mask with a filtration capacity of 90% is compulsory for everyone, outside the premises and in the examination rooms.

It must be worn throughout the tests, both written and oral.

For candidates who are not equipped, it will be offered to them on site.

In the examination rooms, the tables will be placed at a distance of one meter from each other.

The premises will be cleaned with virucidal disinfectant before the arrival and after the departure of the candidates.

Frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, will be cleaned throughout the day.

What does the oral patent consist of?

Set up in 2017, it concerns a project carried out in the history of the arts or as part of an EPI (interdisciplinary practical teaching). “Each jury is made up of at least two professors. It is the head of the establishment who establishes the composition of the juries, for which he takes into account the dominant aspects of the subjects presented, ”explains the ministry.

The oral takes place in two stages: a presentation followed by an interview with the jury. Candidates can choose to take the test individually or in groups (with a maximum of three candidates). In all cases, each candidate is subject to an individual assessment and rating. If he wants to take the oral solo, he must give a presentation of about five minutes and spend a ten-minute interview with the jury. If the test is collective, ten minutes of presentation are planned, during which each of the candidates intervenes, and fifteen minutes of questions and answers with the jury. Candidates can add something extra to their presentation: a film, a recording, a digital production."But this concrete achievement can only occur in support of a presentation which essentially allows the evaluation of oral skills and the capacity for synthesis", specifies the ministry. Anne-Sophie Legrand already foresees a strong inequality of the candidates vis-à-vis this test: "Some were well prepared, others much less because of the absences of teachers and the half-gauge".

Will applicants be rated more favorably given the circumstances?

The patent is calculated on 800 points.

The first 400 correspond to the continuous assessment mark.

The exam papers represent the other 400 (100 points for French, 100 for maths, 50 for

history-geography, 50 for science and 100 for the oral test).

If the candidate accumulates more than 480 points, he obtains the mention fairly well.

If it is more than 560 points, the mention good, and if it exceeds 640 points, the mention very good.

In 2020, the candidates had been evaluated in continuous assessment, the tests having been canceled due to health risks.

According to the Ministry of Education, in 2019, the patent success rate reached 87.8% for the general series and 73.2% for the professional series.

Will it be comparable this year?

"We asked the juries to show benevolence, given the circumstances," said the ministry.

An instruction that questions Anne-Sophie Legrand: "It will be difficult to give points to a student whose answers are false," she comments.

When will the results be published?

Between July 6 and July 10, 2021, depending on the academies.

But that the college students rest assured: they will be able to meet again, because a Republican ceremony of graduation of the patent will be organized at each re-entry for the laureates in their college.
