Kumamon, the image character, unveiled a special costume for the "National Urban Greening Fair" to be held in Kumamoto City next spring.
The special costume was unveiled at the Kumamoto City Zoological and Botanical Garden, which is one of the venues for the "National Urban Greening Fair" on the 14th. Kumamon appeared and was greeted with big applause and cheers.
The design of this costume was supervised by Kumamon's creator, Kumamoto-born broadcast writer Koyama Kundō, and the image of Kumamon delivering smiles and happiness with flowers.
When asked what he thought of the costume, Kumamon replied, "I feel very happy!"
The older girl who participated said, "Kumamon's butterfly seemed to fly through the flower field and was cute."
After that, Kumamon made a flower arrangement for Father's Day using sunflowers and carnations from Kumamoto prefecture with the children.
Yoshiyuki Ido, director of the Kumamoto City National Urban Greening Fair Promotion Office, said, "I'm a corona sick now, but I want more people to come on the day of the event.
The "National Urban Greening Fair" will be held in Kumamoto City from March 19th to May 22nd next year.
