An English teacher who seems to be the director of a group of foreigners who was repeating "international romance scams" that tricked Japanese women who met on SNS into feelings of love was arrested.

According to the police, they have denied the charges.

The person arrested was a Cameroonian, a 31-year-old English teacher at an elementary school in Hyogo prefecture, Tiber Scott Tar.



According to the police, there is a suspicion of fraudulent deception of about 3.7 million yen from a woman in her 60s in Kanto who got acquainted on SNS under the guise of a foreign doctor.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the newly arrested English teacher was suspected of instructing group members to withdraw and hand over the money in the account, such as "Please withdraw money" using the messaging app. Therefore, the police are investigating it as a group instructor.
