The journal

Politique Africaine

 celebrates its fortieth anniversary.

Launched in the early 1980s, this journal marked a renewal of the academic outlook on politics in Africa.

What ruptures has it given rise to?

In what intellectual context did it take place?

To talk about it, we welcome one of the founders of

African Policy

, researcher Jean-François Bayart, Professor at the Institute of Higher International Studies and Development at the University of Geneva.

He answers Laurent Correau's questions.
