Former BTOB member Jung Il-hoon, who was arrested on charges of habitually inhaling marijuana, appealed against the verdict of the first trial.

Jung Il-hoon was handed over to trial on charges of buying and inhaling cannabis worth about 130 million won a total of 161 times from July 2016 to January 2019.

Jung Il-hoon, who was being tried without detention at the sentencing hearing on the 10th, was sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of 130 million won, and was arrested in court.

However, today (14th), four days after the sentencing, Jung Il-hoon's lawyer submitted an appeal to the 22nd Criminal Settlement Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Yang Cheol-han).

At the time of the trial, Jung Il-hoon's side, who had appealed for leniency by saying "I am reflecting," eventually fought again over the sentencing at the appeals trial to be held later.

At the time of the sentence of imprisonment, the court pointed out that "the quality of the crime was not good because he had systematically traded and smoked for a long time, and that he used sophisticated techniques such as trading marijuana with virtual currency such as bitcoin" and "Jung Il-hoon played a leading role in the crime." He did it, and the habit is also recognized," he said, explaining the reason for the sentencing.

In addition, seven accomplices who were handed over to the trial along with Jung Il-hoon were also sentenced to 1 year and 6 months to 2 years in prison depending on the number of purchases and inhalation of marijuana, plus 1 year in prison and 3 years probation

Jung Il-hoon, who has been serving as a social service worker since May of last year, withdrew from BTOB in December of that year when allegations of smoking marijuana were revealed late.
