Moscow tempts citizens to vaccinate against Corona with cars

The authorities in the Russian capital, Moscow, are resorting to unusual means to persuade citizens to receive vaccines against the Corona virus, amid rapidly increasing infection rates.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote in his blog on Sunday that among those who receive the vaccine for the first time, a lottery will be drawn for five cars per week until mid-July.

"Of course, the main prize for those who receive the vaccination, it is not a car - it is your health," the mayor emphasized.

Older citizens of Moscow are already given gift certificates when they receive a vaccination against the virus.

And the authorities in the capital, which has a population of 12 million people, recorded about 7,700 new cases today, Sunday, the highest toll since the end of last December, to represent half of the total new cases in Russia, which are 14,700 new cases.
