The prices of white Burgundy wines have increased significantly in recent years on the French market.

This Saturday, Europe 1 is giving you advice on how to find the bottle of Burgundy white wine that suits your budget.

For that, it is sometimes necessary to look on the side of less famous appellations.

In a few years, the Burgundy vineyard has become a synonym of luxury.

According to the iDealwine barometer, the prices of Burgundy bottles have increased by 300% in five years during auctions.

And for small wines, prices have also doubled in ten years.

It is therefore difficult for consumers on a moderate budget to find inexpensive Burgundy wines.

But solutions exist to find the right bottle suited to your budget, as Europe 1 explains to you this Saturday.

The Burgundy Aligoté solution

The first solution is to choose a Bourgogne aligoté. Usually, when we think of Burgundy, we think of chardonnay, the most common grape variety. The Aligoté grape variety is much rarer and often despised because it is often used to make very small table wines. But when the winegrower applies, Bourgogne aligoté can be tasty. This is the case, for example, for Charles, Père et Fille, a family estate taken over by winemaker Pauline Charles. Very lively, it costs eight euros.

If you absolutely want chardonnay, it is more complicated.

Prestigious appellations, such as Meursault or Chassagne, are becoming too expensive for a small or medium budget.

We must therefore look towards the much less famous appellations of the Côte Chalonnaise or the Mâconnais, for example.

Rully, Mercurey, Montagny, Viré-Clessé, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé ... So many possibilities below 20 euros.

If that is still too expensive for you, the Bourgogne wines from Coulanges-la-Vineuse and Mâcon-Lugny are even more affordable.

A wine at 10 euros that is worth it

The Mâcon Milly-Lamartine Clos du Four 2018 from the Vignerons des Terres Secrètes is also worth tasting. This large Mâconnais cooperative of 910 hectares and 120 winegrowers was elected winery of the year by

La Revue du vin de France

. Very coated and like Burgundy as we know it, that is to say fairly smooth, this wine is worth ten euros.
