Algorithms that recognize images are so powerful that it makes you uncomfortable.

Most Facebook fans have already experienced this: They upload a party photo, and Facebook promptly recognizes the faces of their drunk friends and suggests the correct names.

And the iPhone also sorts the saved photos to the people depicted on them.

There are now a number of companies whose main business purpose is to identify people on digital images - law enforcement agencies are also interested in this technology.

Of course there is also a counter-movement: Resourceful software developers have found a way to change digital images in such a way that the human eye cannot tell the difference from the original. However, facial recognition software grabs its teeth when it comes to the manipulated photos. Another prime example of research is the “This Person does not exist” project at https://thispersondoesnotexist.com. A face is displayed on this website for every new store - at first glance, the people shown are people from the “nice colleague” or “neighbour's child” category. Fascinatingly, however, these faces are generated by an artificial intelligence, none of the people exist. So if you want to use social networks that require uploading a portrait photo, you can use this here,so as not to be recognized automatically. Just press F5 until you like an alter ego!

Now our riddle:

What do you call the effect that it is more difficult to recognize faces that do not come from your own ethnic group?
