[100th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China] Lin Zhengheng, a member of the Taiwan League and a revolutionary martyr: China must be the world of the people led by the Communist Party

Traveling by the sea to come to Taiwan is not for gold and not for the sake of name. I only feel that our compatriots are suffering and dare to turn the tide bare-handed.

[Explanation] At the home of Panjiayuan in Beijing, the retired "Beijing Daily" reporter Lin Yimin once again recited the great poem written by his father Lin Zhengheng before his death.

Lin Zhengheng died on January 30, 1950. The verdict stated that he had joined the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (hereinafter referred to as the Taiwan League), a political organization that supported the Chinese Communist Party, and distributed progressive publications to oppose the KMT's dictatorship.

An article in the inaugural issue of the New Party's "New Congress" magazine in 1993 recorded that he was "the first Taiwanese to die in Machang."

Chen Cheng went to the prison to interrogate my father. If he repented, he could not die.

My father said that I have no regrets, but you are the one to regret.

[Explanation] Lin Zhengheng is the eighth-generation descendant of the Lin family in Wufeng, Taiwan. What he continues is the tradition of "nation-oriented" and "country bigger than family" in this family.

Our family has always been that the country is bigger than the family. No matter how small the country’s affairs are, there are big things in the family. We must regard the country as the mainstay. This is a tradition of our Lin family.

In 1884, (great-grandfather) Lin Chaodong assisted the governor of Taiwan Liu Mingchuan in the fight against the French invading army.

My grandfather (Lin Zumi) sold his family property in Taiwan and organized an army to support Sun Yat-sen, called the Southern Fujian Revolutionary Army. (After the sacrifice), he was called a martyr of the Revolution of 1911.

[Commentary] Lin Zhengheng's 35-year life is in the same line as his ancestors.

He successively participated in the Battle of Kunlun Pass and the Expeditionary Force went to Burma to fight. He died nine times.

In 1944, he joined the expeditionary force (to Burma), and basically all of them died. He eliminated more than 30 Japanese soldiers, and they were (fallen) in the dead.

Later, troops from the rear came and had four major operations in a row.

The doctor dug a piece of meat from his belly and patched it on his wrist.

When he returned to Yunnan Post from the battlefield to recover from his injuries, he wrote a letter to his mother.

In this sacred war, I have fulfilled my responsibilities, and the recovery of Taiwan and the legacy of my father's life can be regarded as achieved.

My disability is nothing. The country can win and become strong. It is also worthwhile for me to be broken into pieces. Please mother not to grieve for my disability.

[Explanation] After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Lin Zhengheng came to Chongqing, under the influence of his sister Lin Gang, joined the Chinese Labor Association led by Zhu Xuefan, and went to Chaotianmen as a dock worker.

This elder brother, saw that the workers were not getting enough to eat, and he was bullied by the bullies.

At that time (Chongqing), the Jiaochangkou incident was also a very famous revolutionary event. The Kuomintang agents sent many spies thugs to throw stones at Jiaochangkou and beat them with sticks.

From these incidents, my father realized that the land of China in the future cannot be the world of the Kuomintang, but the world of the Communist Party.

He said that the people hate the Kuomintang so much, how can they let the Kuomintang rule.

[Explanation] In 1946, Lin Zhengheng secretly joined the Communist Party of China.

In the same year, he returned to Taiwan and continued to work as a worker as a police officer of the Taipei Garrison Command and Chief of the Taiwan Provincial Police Department, and participated in the "February 28" uprising that broke out in Taipei in 1947.

At that time, Lin Yimin was about 5 years old, but some scenes are still fresh in his memory.

When we were hiding cats and cats, I hid in our closet and found a big map in the closet with a lot of small red flags on it. I said, what are you doing with this small red flag?

He said he can't tell you now, but you will know in the future.

Every time a city was liberated, he planted a small red flag.

So he believes that Taiwan will eventually plant the red flag. This is the thing that impressed me the most.

[Explanation] Lin Zhengheng has searched and struggled all his life to connect the Wufeng Lin family, who is full of heroes and legends, with the cause of reunification of the motherland.

In August 2018, the "Special Exhibition of Wufeng Lin Family History" was held at the Taiwan Hall in Beijing. Many people from the Wufeng Lin Family in Taiwan made a special trip to watch it.

We Taiwanese are Chinese. Today's "Taiwan independence" only talks about the traitorous side. He doesn't talk about so many patriotic heroes in Taiwan's history.

Our patriotic enthusiasm for the people of Taiwan and our patriotic history have not been publicized enough. We should publicize more in this regard.
