A woman from Monte San Savino, Italy, woke up after falling into a coma for 10 months to discover that she had become the mother of a baby girl, as the BBC reported on its website.

Christina Rossi, 37, was seven months pregnant when she had a heart attack in July last year.

Her daughter Katrina was born by an emergency caesarean section that doctors performed for her after the mother was taken to hospital.

Her treatment was paid for through a donations page on GoFundMe that her husband set up to fund her treatment, which has so far raised more than 170,000 euros ($208,000, £148,000).
