According to Mohamed Salek Ould Salek, if the major battles have not yet taken place, hostilities have indeed been declared again between Morocco and the Polisario Front. He says he hopes that the administration of President Joe Biden will reverse the decision of that of his predecessor, Donald Trump, to recognize Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. A decision which, according to him, violates international law and excludes the United States from any possibility of mediation. He denies that Morocco has now taken the diplomatic advantage on this issue and calls on countries friendly to Morocco, such as France and Spain, to adopt a more balanced position.
He also denies that the president of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, went in secret to Spain and that the Spanish authorities sought to remove him once his presence was made public.
