Before housing the Ministry of the Navy, the building built under Louis XV was initially assigned to the steward of the monarch's furniture repository. Its function is to furnish the royal residences. The monument then housed stores, workshops, offices, exhibition rooms, but also the apartment of the manager. And it is this apartment, the jewel of the building, which has been the subject of a meticulous restoration in the rules of the art of the 18th century.

Joseph Ashkar supervised the decoration with Michel Carrière: “

Paris doesn't need another museum. It needs a place where the new generation can be reconciled with the 18th century. A century where there is an art of living with less rowdy atmospheres than what we are used to seeing in these palaces, with the greatest craftsmen, the greatest carpenters, the greatest cabinetmakers, the greatest bronziers experienced at the end of the 18th century.

 "

It is therefore a whole French art of living that we can discover there, but, financing obliges, part of the building will be transformed into offices.

A 6,000 square meter coworking space can accommodate more than 650 people to work there.

Finally, a room is reserved for one of the great patrons of the Hôtel de la Marine, the Al-Thani Foundation of Qatar.
