The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that it has confirmed that 13 new people have been infected with the mutant virus confirmed in India.


This brings the total number of people confirmed to be infected with this mutant virus to 63 in Tokyo.

In Tokyo, a total of 13 people, including 9 men and women in their teens and 20s and 4 men and women in their 40s and 70s, were confirmed in India by inspections by research institutes in Tokyo and analysis by the National Institute of Infectious Diseases. Announced that it has newly confirmed that it is infected with the mutant virus.



This is the largest number of people that the city has confirmed in a day.



Three of the thirteen teenage men are junior high school students who have had a cluster of this mutant virus.



In addition, all 13 people have no history of traveling abroad, and 7 of them have no known infection route so far.



A person in charge of the city said, "Some people may be infected in the city, but I would like to keep an eye on the future situation to see how widespread it is."
