The President of Helwan University indicated that the Grand Egyptian Museum, for which a distinguished location was chosen near the Pyramids of Giza, and extends over an area of ​​117 acres, will be a center of civilizational radiation and not only a museum to display artifacts, as it includes besides galleries and artifacts, research centers, Including, for example, a center for biotechnology research to discover and treat fungi that infect artifacts, it will also contain a library, specialized research laboratories, places of entertainment such as 3D cinema, restaurants and entertainment venues, and shops selling tourist souvenirs. Pointing out that the museum will attract tourists from everywhere, and thus increase the number of tourist nights in a way that supports the tourism sector, which is one of the most important sources of Egyptian national income.

According to what has been announced so far about the museum, the visitor’s path to the place will begin with seeing the Obelisk Square, which displays the first hanging obelisk in the world, and in front of it the majestic facade of the museum will see the “Pyramids Wall” with a width of 600 meters and a height of 45 meters, from which the visitor enters the building, which consists of two main blocks , They are the museum building, and here Ramses II stands, welcoming visitors, and includes many halls, most notably King Tutankhamun’s Hall, which includes the king’s treasures combined for the first time, a library of rare books and antiquities stores.

And the conference building, which includes a three-dimensional hall, a cultural center, a main restaurant plaza, a commercial walkway and shops.

As for the outer courtyards, it includes the Museum of the Sun Boat, a group of restaurants, and many gardens.
