Last month, a trawler fishing boat carrying 14 people captured by the Russian Border Security Bureau off the coast of Wakkanai City, Hokkaido, returned to Wakkanai Port around 6 am on the 11th.

On May 28, the bottom trawler fishing boat "172nd Sakhalin Maru" belonging to the Wakkanai Kisen Fisheries Cooperative in Hokkaido was captured by the Russian Border Protection Bureau while operating off the coast of Wakkanai City and taken to the port of Sakhalin. After being released, it was released for the first time in about two weeks on the 10th.



It means that there is no problem with the health of the 14 crew members.



According to the Russian side, fishing boats have been fined about 9 million yen in Japanese yen for violating fishing rules in Russia's exclusive economic zone, and have already paid the full amount.



After the fishing boat was released, it was heading for Wakkanai Port and returned to Wakkanai Port around 6 am on the 11th.



The Wakkanai Machinery and Fisheries Cooperative has commented on this capture, criticizing the Russian side as "unjustified entrainment."
