Prince Harry and Meghan's decision to step back from the British royal family is "difficult for everyone".

That says Harry's uncle Prince Edward in an interview with


on the 100th birthday of his father Prince Philip.

"It is very sad," said the Earl of Wessex.

"Oddly enough, we've all experienced something similar. We've all had excessive interference and attention in our lives. Everyone has dealt with it differently."

Edward calls Harry and Meghan's decision to step back "a very difficult decision", but wishes them nothing but the best.

Last week, Prince Edward did not want to respond substantively to Harry and Meghan's much-discussed interview with Oprah Winfrey.
