Law of the Catholic Church
, is a
survivor
.
In the first centuries it survived the concerted pressure of the two most powerful Rights of the time: the Germanic and the Roman;
later it resisted the shock of the Civil Codification, also creating its own Code of Canon Law (1917);
later, he promulgated that of 1983, which is the current one.
The fact that its regulations bind 1.3 billion Catholics explains its importance and the amount of news it generates.
