Benefits include indoor construction work from October 1975 to September 2004, and asbestos spraying work from October 1972 to September 1975. These are people and their bereaved families who have suffered from asbestos-induced mesopharyngeal tumors and lung cancer.
The operation of the system is expected to start next year, and depending on the symptoms, a benefit of 5.5 million yen to 13 million yen will be paid per person.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has set up a telephone consultation desk, accepting consultations and disseminating the system to help victims.
The benefits will be examined by the examination committee established by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare based on the applications of victims and bereaved families, and the payment will be decided.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare estimates that the amount of payment will reach approximately 31,000 people, including those who will develop the disease in the next 30 years.
