Operation Trojan Shield is the international operation based on the US FBI creating and administering an encrypted platform that has been used by criminals to plan crimes.

In Sweden, the police state that the operation has resulted in more than 150 arrests.

The FBI has given the operation a symbol representing a coat of arms.

Henrik Klackenberg, state herald at the National Archives, believes that the symbol is only correctly designed in one respect.

- It is a form of shield, the rest violates all rules and norms that a heraldic shield motif should have, he says.

Henrik Klackenberg talks about the Trojan Shield from a heraldic point of view in the video.

Breaks rules

In Operation Trojan Shield, a shield is lined with the flags of different countries.

In the middle is a sword, two Trojan horses and the text "Trojan Shield".

- There should be no text, and above all the simplicity that a shield should have is lacking, says Henrik Klackenberg.

To be suitable as a heraldic coat of arms, the flags must be removed and a simple motif highlighted, for example one of the horses, preferably in gold against red, according to Henrik Klackenberg.

- Then it will be a strong brand that you recognize and will be able to use, he says.
