A 12-year-old child who was riding an electric scooter with his twin brother died Monday at the end of school in Saint-Amour (Jura), in a collision with a car, said the prosecutor of Lons-le-Saunier .

The accident happened during lunch break when the two boys had just left school.

According to the first observations, "it seems that they did not mark a stop" before a violent collision with a vehicle, told AFP the public prosecutor of Lons-le-Saunier, Lionel Pascal.

The electric scooter rider died and his twin brother was taken to Besançon hospital.

The latter suffers from minor injuries to his legs, he added.
