A petition was passed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly to allow the two people who support each other to live together as partners, and was unanimously adopted.

The petition was submitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly by the "Meeting for a Partnership System in Tokyo".



The petition demands that "a partnership system should be established in Tokyo that allows two people who support each other to live together as partners."



On the 7th, the last day of the regular meeting of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly, a vote was taken at the plenary session, which was unanimously adopted.



Regarding the partnership system, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government plans to conduct a questionnaire survey this year to hear opinions from sexual minority parties, etc., and will proceed with consideration of the introduction of the system.



After the plenary session, Governor Koike of Tokyo said, "We will respond by referring to various surveys and local governments that are already practicing how the city will proceed."
